NYBC’s 9th annual Hike for Life was held on May 2nd at Sunken Meadow State Park. The event, held in partnership with the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference helped raise an estimated $35,000 to support volunteer programs. Approximately 400 hikers supported NYBC by hiking lengths ranging from 32 to 3 miles.
The hike was founded and continues to be led by Shari Zagorski of the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference. Shari not only leads the hike but was also the top fundraiser. NYBC employees Natalie Barnofsky, Sharon Bonder, and Wade Zamechek led the effort from NYBC again this year.
Employees, Robin Quagliata, Alice Rogers, Diane Robinson, Ricardo Cerron, Cynthia Yanez, Ravi Balram, and Jorge Coral also helped to make the hike a success.
NYBC would like to thank TD Bank for again being the lead sponsor of the Hike for Life. In addition, we would like to thank Huntington Coach who provided transportation to the hikers back to the starting points.
