- Julia Bonnell Brand Manager
Julia Bonnell oversees marketing and brand management for Comprehensive Cell Solutions™. She is responsible for the build and launch of the CCS website, coordinates marketing opportunities at industry conferences and events, and creates digital content and outreach to CCS customers. She earned her Masters of Arts degree in sociology with distinction in women’s and gender studies from Columbia University. She has extensive experience in website design, marketing on digital platforms, and start up business strategy.
- Dorian Deschesne-Walsh Administrator, CRM and Marketing Platforms
Dorian Deschesne-Walsh has been with NYBC for over 10 years, recently taking on the role of Administrator of CRM and Marketing Platforms, leveraging cloud-based tools to integrate systems, organize and analyze data, as well as streamline business processes for the enterprise. Dorian began her career with NYBC in the Donor Recruitment Department, first as a Mobile Apheresis Recruiter, then Account Manager in the Hudson Valley Region for 5 years. She spent the last 4 years as Customer Relations Manager for the Bronx, Hudson Valley, and Connecticut regions. Dorian earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Barnard College in NYC and is a Certified Salesforce Administrator.
- Joe Ferrara Manager, Customer Relations
Joe Ferrara is Customer Relations Manager in New York Blood Center’s Customer Service Department. Joe brings with him over ten years of experience in the industry. He has held positions in donor recruitment, marketing and community relations, including seven years as an Account Manager at New York Blood Center, and three years of marketing experience at a major blood center on the West Coast. In his Account Manager role, he was recognized with the Account Manager of the Year Award three times. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sociology from Stony Brook University.
- Ali Kocabas Senior Manager, Business Intelligence
Ali Kocabas has been with NYBC over 10 years. Currently he is serving as Senior Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics. Ali is responsible for the managing of business analytic processes and strategies such as: data integration, operational reporting, ad-hoc & analysis, dashboards. He is also responsible for revenue planning/budgeting for NYBC and affiliate organizations. His focus is to create data-driven solutions with cutting-edge analytical tools to provide meaningful and actionable insights to key decision makers. Prior to NYBC, he worked in United Nations and its affiliations as Business/HR Consultant.
Ali received his Bachelor’s degree from Selcuk University in Turkey and holds a master’s degree in International Relations/Business from Rutgers University. He also earned a graduate certificate in Information Systems/Knowledge Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. Ali is a Member of the Board of Directors of Sunnyside Gardens Community Inc. and of Mimar Sinan Turkish Cultural Center.
- Susan Kusic Director, Customer Service
Susan Kusic has served as New York Blood Center's Director of Customer Service for more than 20 years. In this role, she oversees the Customer Relation’s Managers team that serves our hospital customers. The goal is to extend comprehensive customer service satisfaction to each and every customer.
She received her Bachelor's degree from Kean University and holds a Master's degree in Public Administration/Health Care from Rutgers University. As a medical technologist, she is very aware of the challenges our customers face daily. Prior to coming to New York Blood Center, Susan managed a hospital based transfusion service with a robust donor room and donor recruitment efforts.
Susan also is an active member of several professional organizations such as New Jersey Association of Blood Bank Professionals, Blood Banks Association of New York State, and AABB. Susan has also served as an AABB assessor for many years.
- Richard Miller-Murphy Director, Marketing, Blood, Laboratory and Medical Services
Rich Miller-Murphy has worked in the healthcare industry for over twenty-five years, currently as Director of Marketing for Blood, Laboratory and Medical Services at New York Blood Center focusing on digital communications and hospital demand generation/marketing. Previously he served as NYBC’s Chief - Strategy & Marketing, Office of the President, managed the Office of Contracts/Pricing Administration, and served as Vice President and Executive Director for NY Blood Services.
Rich earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Fairfield University and his MBA in Business Policy and Strategy from the University of New Haven. In addition to serving as Chair of UNH’s College of Business Advisory Board, he is on the Board of Directors for NY American Marketing Association’s Executive Circle, Vice President of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Laurence O’Toole Conference, and a member of the Healthcare PR and Marketing Society of Greater New York.
At NYBC, Rich has received the President’s Award along with numerous other awards for communications excellence and public relations. He actively promotes NYBC’s Corporate Wellness Program and has served on the Steering Committees for NYBC’s public website, and company intranet PULSE.
- Lisa Moore Manager, Customer Relations
Lisa Moore is Customer Relations Manager at New York Blood Center. She brings with her over twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has held positions in pharmaceutical research, sales and market research. While her experience spans a multiplicity of therapy areas, she has spent 6 years of her career solely in the hematology and oncology space. In her role with New York Blood Center, she works to provide hospitals with the best customer service available. NYBC offers a number of different services including Blood Services, Perioperative Autologous Transfusion Services, Clinical Apheresis Services and Cellular Therapy Services. Within these offerings to hospitals, NYBC’s Customer Service Team has created many options to suit each hospital’s specific needs.
Her professional interests include business and strategy development in addition to customer retention. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, where Lisa studied Biology, she later acquired Master’s degrees in the fields of microbiology and business.
- Kevin D. Morel Marketing Coordinator
Kevin serves as Marketing Coordinator at New York Blood Center, focusing on digital communications for generating hospital demand. He is responsible for coordinating marketing opportunities along with creating content and outreach to NYBC customers.
He attended the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing. At the university, Kevin received the Distinguished Scholar Award for academic achievement and success and is also a member of the American Marketing Association.
- Robert Purvis Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Rob Purvis has worked with New York Blood Center (NYBC) for more than 10 years, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Previously, he led two NYBC divisions: Hudson Valley Blood Services and then New York Blood Services in Manhattan. Prior to joining NYBC, he spent 10 years at The Blood Center of Wisconsin as Vice President of Blood Services -- overseeing blood service operations, materials management, and purchasing.
In his current role, Rob is responsible for a wide portfolio, including: Sales and Marketing to NYBC’s partner hospitals for blood, laboratory, medical, and clinical services; Communications and Public Relations; Development / Fundraising, and Volunteer Leadership.
The focus of Rob’s efforts are to create an environment of superior customer service both internally and externally, while providing competitively-priced products and services that exceed customers’ expectations. He is credited with the creation of a Customer Service Department that supports NYBC’s customer needs for products and services as well as an external Customer Relations Team charged with broadening face-to-face exposure and building positive relationships at all levels of NYBC’s customer base. Rob is NYBC’s chief public spokesperson, and as such is a regular presence on news media both in New York City and across the country. He is also a member of the Senior Leadership Team for NYBC, which manages all day-to-day operations as well as providing strategic counsel.
Rob is a Member of the Board of Directors of America’s Blood Centers (ABC) and a Member of the Association of America’s Blood Banks (AABB). He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Westchester Boys and Girls Club.
- Chandler Wilson Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications
Chandler Wilson serves as Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications at New York Blood Center, overseeing the creative conceptualization, writing, editing, design, and production of a variety of print and digital communications. She has worked in marketing and communications management roles for nearly 20 years in nonprofit, healthcare, education, and hospital industries. Previously, Chandler served as Director of Communications for the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance and Assistant Director of Publications and Communications for Hospital for Special Surgery.
She attended American University's Kogod School of Business in Washington DC on a full academic scholarship, receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and she earned her Master's in Public Administration/Health Management and Policy from New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She has also earned certificates in Executive Leadership and Marketing Strategy from Cornell University and Project Management from the University of Chicago. Chandler is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity and the American Marketing Association, and she is an avid traveler, having visited over 20 countries.
- Jason Zimbelman Manager, Hospital Relations
Jason Zimbelman has served Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City (CBC) in the role of Hospital Relations Manager for over a year. In this role, Jason applies his customer service and sales experience to strengthen existing relationships with CBC hospital clients while also striving to build the CBC hospital client base. In addition, he serves as a resource to and conduit between CBC and its hospital clients while providing support to CBC medical and technical staff in their communications with CBC hospital clients. This responsibility spans across identifying of problems, initiation of action, verifying solutions and controlling of follow-up to ensure the best product and services is provided to our hospitals.
Jason earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Health Care Administration/Management from Park University.
