NYBC has accredited clinical laboratory services for immunohematology, red blood cell and platelet genomics, and HLA testing.
The Flow Cytometry Laboratory will provide custom in-vitro diagnostic tests, data analysis, experimental design, and training/education. Equipment includes BD FACS Canto, BD LSR Fortessa, Amnis ImageStreamX, Advia Hematology Analyzer and Nexcelom Cell Counter.
Human Leukocyte antigens (HLA)
The Laboratory of immunogenetics provides HLA testing for blood and component samples, including single samples and high throughput requests for HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1 and -DQB1 typing determined by low-intermediate and high resolution. We employ DNA-based methodologies for the detection of human leukocyte antigens (HLA). We will provide consultation with physicians and blood bank staff, sample and test requirements, and shipping arrangements.
The Immunohematology Laboratory is known worldwide for expertise in resolving complex antibody investigations, and has an extensive collection of panel cells to identify antibodies. Testing services include ABO/Rh, antibody identification, RBC antigen phenotyping, autoantibody workup and reagent licensure studies.
The Blood Genomics Testing provides genomic testing of DNA and RNA for blood group antigens. ABO subgroup analysis, extensive Rh genotyping, RBC genotyping, human neutrophil antigen genotyping, and sequencing. Methods include DNA array, PCR-RFLP, AS-PCR and gene specific amplification and sequencing.
