The Office of Sponsored Programs administers all pre- and post- award activities that are supported by grants and contracts within New York Blood Center. Our sponsors include Federal, State and Local governments, non-profit agencies, corporations, and foundations.
In addition, the Office of Sponsored Programs houses and provides support for NYBC’s research compliance committees, and administers the Exchange Visitor Program (J1).
Research Compliance Committees
- The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversees NYBC's animal programs, facilities and procedures and ensures the appropriate care, use and humane treatment of animals used for research, testing and education.
- The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) assures that activities at NYBC involving recombinant DNA, infectious biologicals and biological toxins meet the ethical and legal requirements for the responsible use of these agents.
- The Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews all NYBC research activities involving human subjects, regardless of sponsorship, in order to protect the rights and welfare of individuals participating in NYBC research.
- If you have questions about your rights as a research participant, you can contact Nancy Moynihan at (212) 570-3038. All communication will be kept confidential.
Exchange Visitor Program (J1)
