ABI1 Conditional Knockout Mouse [NYBC 584]
A mouse model useful for in vivo evaluation of compounds designed to treat prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) . The model is engineered with a conditional disruption of the Abil/Hssh3bp1 gene which, in the homozygous state, inhibits production of a functional Abil/Hssh3bp1 gene. The prostate-specific disruption in exon 1 of an Abi interactor 1 (Abi-1) gene results in an inability to produce detectable levels of the Abi-1 protein in prostate tissue and resulting in the development of PIN.
